Traveling on 2 wheels with us old broads…

Idaho and beyond…

Wow!  Cold again this morning with no temperature higher than 55o in sight today.  That’s ok, we were bundled up… layers and layers!  Left Omak with the sun blinding us.  At least we had clear weather.  The ride was great again and I know you don’t want me to keep telling you that.

Highways 155 and 174, over Coulee Dam and into Spokane, where we picked up I90.  We crossed into Idaho at the Coeur d’Alene Lake that was beautiful and through one of many national forests.  But we were only in Idaho for about 60 miles before we crossed into Montana and “Big Sky Country”.  We weren’t that impressed with the roads but the  scenery was pretty nice… for a while anyway.  Mountains turned into rolling hills and lots of farmland.  BUT we did get some more mountains before the day’s ride was over.  I think today was our longest (mileage) day… a little over 450.  We arrived at our motel in Butte somewhere around 5:30 for a good night’s sleep.

It’s supposed to be around 34o at departure time tomorrow and up in the mid 80’s by the time we reach Salt Lake City.  So we will be peeling off layers somewhere down the road in between.
